I used it when starting my rebuilt engine for the first time. I read some things somewhere that highly recommended it for initial startup and break-in. I changed the oil right after the cam break in period of 20 minutes at high idle.
I just went down to the local Chevy dealer and asked for EOS and they had it on the shelf. I'd rather have it in there than not on a fresh engine. I believe the first few minutes after initial fire-up are the most critical in the engine's life. EOS is cheap insurance. I read to many horror stories. Luckily all went well on mine.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] EOS in my oil?
Does anyone on the list have experience with EOS?
I will soon fire up my new GMPP 350 and have received conflicting info about cam lube.
This is from the Sallee Chevrolet Installation and Break-in Guide for GMPP Crate engines: Before starting your engine for the first time, add one pint of engine oil supplement (EOS¹) to the crankcase oil and then check the oil level. Once this has been done, prime the oil system with an oil pump primer tool.
Note¹: EOS P/N 1052367 can be used any time during the life of the engine.
This is from the label on E.O.S. 1052367 Assembly Lubricant: GM Does not recommend the use of this or any product as an additive to engine oil.
Can you help?
Thanks,
Dennis McGillis
