Thanks Rick. I was pretty disgusted (good choice of words, the wind was knocked out of me) when I saw how my car turned out after what I paid. For $9k I certainly could have had it done by Hank and it would have turned out much better, but Ron lures people in by saying that you'll save money because his hourly rates are low. Of course he also doesn’t give estimates or ever put anything in writing, so you never know what you’re going to get or how much you're going to pay for it until it's too late. My floorboards are a good example of Ron's work. They never were watertight and he also buried my emergency brake cable in fiberglass. From the day I got the car back there were still holes in the floor that you could see daylight through. I asked whether or not I should buy new pans and he said not to because they could be patched. Nice patch job Ron.

Then you talk to a guy like Hank who says up front not to fool around with patches and to just replace the whole floor and do it right the first time, and you get the sense that this guy knows what he's talking about.

Sounds like a great plan.      Seems like not so long ago you were pretty disgusted with the whole thing.    As for the doors, my understanding is the same as yours.
