Steve,
You might try to make the ACES Regional events where you will see many 69s and
might be able to buy one. You will be able to tap the huge wealth of knowledge
that is always walking around as well. I suggest you learn how to read a trim
tag so you can tell what you are looking at. There is some software available
on the TC website that can help you with all the codes. The list can probably
help you make up a list of codes to look for on the trim tags. I bought the
software and have used it many times.

When you fin the car you think you want, isuggest you hire an appraiser to
verify what condition etc. it is in before pulling the trigger. A family member
did not do so recently and really got burnt on a 69 chevelle. It's money well
spent. gm66

MessageSteve, you may have got more than you expected here. There are numerous
69 SS owners here and they are all way more helpful than you can imagine. It
would also help if you would let us know what shape of car you are looking for.
And a price range that you are willing ot spend and i bet these guys will hook
you up!! My son just sold one about a month ago but it was a project car. Good
luck on your search. And your question is totally appropraite.....

I will start by saying that I am new to the list and would like to ask in
advance for your patience if I am posting a question that is inappropriate for
this list. I would also appreciate someone letting me know if it is not an
appropriate question.

I joined the list just a few days ago after finding the web site while doing
some searches on Google. Once I joined I was amazed at the amount of talent and
information that existed within this group. I am trying to find a 1969 Chevelle
SS-396 to purchase and have been looking and searching for some time to try and
locate the right car. I know what I want and have found a few cars that would
come close however the fact that I am a novice ultimately undermines my
confidence in pulling the trigger on purchasing a car.

Does anyone within the group know of someone that is familiar with 69's that
would not mind consulting with me regarding my hopeful purchase. Additionaly, I
would not expect this type of help without gladly agreeing to pay a pre
arranged fee.

Again, please accept my appologies if this is an inappropriate question.
