John that carb number checks out as for 75 -77 Chevy and GMC Truck. Also shows to be used on some BOP's in 77. Not shown as Corvette anywhere I can find in my books. Been doing carb work for 42 years so have a few books to search. If I find anything that says Corvette will let you know. If is only truck will be jetted fairly rich and metering piston will be raised a little higher in channel. Air bleeds etc. allow for richer mixture at lower speeds. Runs on idle circuit until about 40 - 45 mph. Should be about 750 cfm. Hope this helps.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Q-jet numbers

The Q-Jet I took off of my '70 is a 17056206. It appears to me that this
must be the original 1976 Corvette carb for this engine. The ID number
suggests that it is a 1976 Quadrajet 4 bbl (Federal standards) from a
Chevrolet with A/T. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if the carb
& block are both from a 1976 Corvette, the intake probably is too. In any
case, I am considering cleaning up this intake and using it. I may sell the
carb if there is value there. Otherwise I may use it as well since I have
the dual-plane spreadbore manifold.

Can anybody tell me anything about this carb (cfm, jetting, etc.)? Maybe one
of you guys can find it in a Corvette book or something. I'll verify the
numbers from the intake the next time I'm there.

Thanks,
John Nasta
