Shifter Hump - 66 Chevelle
Larry-- You can use the big hurst shifter boot
and it will cover the hole, but it's not a big deal to install the 4 speed
hump. I installed one in my car a couple of years ago while the tranny
was out. It will only fit in one place. I found I did have to open
it up a little to work with the Hurst shifter, but it makes for a much cleaner
installation.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] 4 Speed
Shifter Hump - 66 Chevelle
I've cut the floor for my 4 speed shifter and
the tranny is in place. I have a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. I do not
have a center console, although I would like to get one some day when
everything else is done with the car.
My question -
1. Do I need to get the
shifter hump if I want to get the shifter boot to fit/seal
properly?
2. If so, are there carpets
available to accommodate the hump?
I would prefer to just carpet over the floor as
is and install a shift boot over it if I can get away with
it...
Thanks,
Larry
