Thanks to everybody who responded. I'll be sure to look at everybody mentioned before making a decision. I'm headed to SC at o-dark-thirty with trailer in tow to go get my truck. See you all in a few days.

I went with Classic Autoair as well and I’m very happy. I know of two others in the area and the units perform well.

One part of the story is that Vintage uses cheap plastic on the internal fan and supposedly the internal coil is split in half for heating and cooling, where Classic uses two separate coils.

I'll do that Mike.

Larry, I have installed several units from www.classicautoair.com. They are in Tampa. I'm not gonna give you a sales pitch. Just call em up and ask them why you should use them instead of Vintage.

I just purchased a 1970 GMC 1500 stepside truck. It doesn't have AC or power steering, so I definitely need to add those two options.

On the AC, I am planning to check into a Vintage Air kit. Can anybody recommend a good place to buy from, or recommend another kit supplier?

As to the PS, I guess I need to pick up a gear box and pump setup? Any recommendations here?

Thanks,

Larry Shouse
