I installed an under dash powered antenna. It is stuck under the dash just
above the glove box area in my 66. My 66 is not on the road yet so I can't
comment on reception driving down the road. I can tell you that with the car
parked inside a metal building 20 miles west of Orlando, I can pick up Orlando
stations just fine on FM, and I can even get Tampa stations too, which are 80
to 90 miles away. In this building, AM reception is marginal.

I did something different with my car. I have the CD player hid under front
seat and a rubber Arial up inside the seat. This way the original is still
in the dash for looks. Up in the bucket seat It still pulls in the radio
excellent.

Something different.
