This
is probably why people were accusing you of having crabs! :
)
Herb
Thanks Herb! Better be careful, it's only been a few
days since I was accused of having crabs!
Larry
I
had a feeling somebody would have at least one comment! The rest of
you guys, stay off of Larry's rear!
Herb
What is boxing the control arms?? Is it just
welding a piece to make them look like the HD control arms??
If that isn't it, I often wondered if that would
work rather than spending $100.00 + on new ones??
Is it?? Will it??
Herb, If the car is only up on jackstands that
really isn't high enough for him to wiggle his rear end enough to be
helpful........
You had to guess that after you sent that, someone
would jump on it....

Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Rear
Control Arms Removal
Larry,
Probably the easiest thing to do is to lift the car high enough
to put the frame on jacks stands just forward of where the lower control
arms connect to the frame. Then you can remove both lowers and box
them (of course don't forget to support the rear end itself with the
floor jack). The upper arms don't need to be boxed and they will
hold the rear in position while the lowers are out. Putting them
back in place may require a few choice words and some wiggling of the
rear end. Have fun.
Herb
It's time
to remove, box in and install new bushings on my control arms. With
the vehicle weight on the rear end, how many control arms can I take
off at one time without having to take out the rear
end?
Thanks,
Larry
