I have considered buying a new carb but that's giving up! ;-)
I'm not good at giving up ;-)

I suspect that the larger jets I put in just compensates for a
faulty acc pump circuit on the primary side leaving me with
a rich mixture which makes it run like crap idling?

Fuel pressure is ok 6-7 psi.
