The quality of gas has gone down by cleaning up the emmisions, summer blend. I travel the midwest 75K on an '05 and the gas sold in Iowa nets me 2-3 less mpg than the Indiana gas because of the ethanol. I drive the same way. I really see the difference in my '85 C20 with 7.4L on the ethanol type. Lucky to hit 11.5 but when I put the good stuff in it I see it near 16. (no Kidding) My $.02

I had a 77 Z/28 about 10 years ago that had 10:1 compression, a 286 cam, all
roller valve train, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, Edelbrock Performer
intake and carb, HEI, TCI Streetfighter trans, and 3.42:1 posi and it got
18MPG highway!
If I can do that, you'd think these car companies could do better.
