Why bother? Get two complete sets and install long shoes rear and front. This
should also improve the brakes.

My brother says it's longer shoe in the rear.

Where is everybody?

Subject: [Chevelle-list] drum brake shoe placement

Dumb question of the night. I took the rear drums off my '70 today and
noticed that the longer (primary) brake shoes were in the back on both
sides and the shorter (secondary) shoes were in front. Isn't it
supposed to be the other way around? I thought my memory might just be
playing tricks on me, but I just got home and checked the service
manual, which also says that the adjuster lever goes on the secondary
shoe, which also indicates that the smaller shoe belongs in the back.

Thanks,
