Tabius,A while back I had the same problem as you. It turned out that I had a bad diode in my alternator which was drawing down the battery after a couple of days. How I found out was I brought it over to AutoZone and had them put their tester on it. While it was running it was fine but when I shut it down the tester showed I had a bad diode. I changed the alternator and no more problem.John L.ACES #5597

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Power Problem?I have a 71 Chevelle SS 402 and last week went out to start my car and the battery was dead. Being that the battery was fairly old, i just opted for a new battery. After the new battery, the car cranked fine for 2 days but again the battery was dead. No lights are being left on so I'm wondering where this draw is coming from. Could it be a bad alternator or maybe, just maybe the trunk light not going off?
Thanks,
Tabius
