TJ, Shame on you. It sounds like you don't trust this group with the
whereabouts of this car. I'd bet that if you posted the exact location there
wouldn't be a single guy from this group trying to buy it out from under you.
Especially, no one from New York. Heh...Heh...Heh...

PS if you have pangs of guilt and decide to post the location, could you
sketch out just rough directions for the out-of-staters.

  Good luck.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned to my father that I would love to track down a
nice, original, California El Camino - from the 1970-1972 vintage to be a
stable mate of my 1972 Chevelle. I also mentioned that a neighbor of ours used
to drive one around town (an elderly man) and if he could track the car down -
I would be interested in talking him out of it. I got a call tonight, and the
car is located - and it is for sale (to me only) because our family is a friend
of his family.

A low mileage, zero rust, 100% original 1970 El Camino 350 4bbl, tan on
tan. His father used to drive it to the store and back, and he (his father) is
the original owner. Literally, it has been in his barn for 6 years. He wants
$800 bucks for it. He does not know anything about the car. He said it was a
1978 or a 1969 but he did not know. I am not disclosing where it is J. It may
even be numbers matching, but I don't care because I am not a "numbers
matching" kind of guy. This car will be a mild hot rod for my Son (who is 6
right now).

I have had my eyes on that car since I was a kid - so I know it is the tan
on tan 1970 El Camino. I will report back when I have possession of the jewel
and what kind of shape it is in.
