If you buy a new one, see what connections it has for hoses. You may find that the more modern boxes also need custom hoses. I went that way, and then when it came time to rebuild that box again, I opted to have my old box updated so I could use stock hoses again.
You can send the box to Lee Manufacturing. They can rebuild your old box to the 12.7 ratio, high effort specs of the modern boxes. They might have moved since I last used them, but here is what I have: Lee Manufacturing Tom Lee, Owner 11661 Pendleton St. Sun Valley, CA 91352 818.768.0371 I sent them my old box and pump, and they rebuilt it to the modern specs and made sure the pump could handle it. I had previously done a boneyard swap, and had some issues. First, you need custom hoses to mate the modern box and the old style pump. Second, the (new) pump could not handle the modern box load and burned out after about two years. Third, any work was complicated by the mixture of parts. Now I have 1967 style equipment, and only the innards of the steering box is different. No adapters, and everything works great.
