I am using a four year old Optima Red Top in my '71. I like it because it
holds up well when the car is not started for several weeks (or more) at a
time. It is also a little lighter than a regular battery.
My problem is I think the red top really looks out of place when showing the
car. Might paint it black, but wanted to see if there were any comments or
gotcha's before I get serious about it.
Of course it will still have the six pack look, but the shiny red top (which
to me stands out like a sore thumb) will be gone.
