I converted a previous Chevelle that had the same problem.  The booster rod 
needed adjustment that goes into the master.  I bet that is your problem.  My $

I have a question on brakes . I don't think is related to vacuum. When I 
step on the brake ,the pedal is easy and the braking action is sudden ,I 
have to get use to it after not driving the car for a while. It's a 1972 
four wheel drum that has  power brakes . I have the disc brake conversion I
