Are you possibibly talking about the "weep hole" on the bottom of the pump that leaks when the pump starts to go/is worn out?

I have never heard of anyone reparing in place. As mentioned, JB Weld may hold for a while..but doubt it. I would not want to risk it and overheat the engine.

Hi!
i have a car with an aluminum water pump housing which has corroded to the
point of having a 5/16 hole in it- i would like to just patch it on the vehicle for now, has anyone out there have any tricks for doing this?? it is in kind
of an awkward place.
