Anyone have anything good to say about a Demon carb?  I went from a worn out
Holley 650 DP to a 750 Demon w/mech secondaries but the 5 mpg was to much!
Swapped it for a 650 Demon with mech sec.  Mpg up to 10 -11 mostly highway
which I can live with.  Neither was an out of the box job.  Both needed alot of
work.  Low end drivability is not much.  Going thru the gears & top end is
great.  Won't idle til completely warm and a PITA at all stops.  Got to keep
the revs up to take off.  Feels like a close box & no rear gears.  Well it's a
252 first & a 3.73 rear.  Cam is a Comp 274 Hi Energy Xtreme, 236 dur 490
lift.  Down from a 284 in the six yrs I've owned it.  The guy at BG says too
much cam & go to a 575.  Wouldn't that kill the performance!!!  I've got a TKO
600 with a 2.87 first going in this winter which may solve it all and give me
both low end drivability & 1/4 mile performance.  Why don't I go with an
Edelbrock which most people say are great right out the box?  Probably the
Look.  Some of us just prefer the Holley/Demon look.  All thoughts, comments,
ideas, advice, or just ventilation appreciated.

For anyone that was at the MCC/ACES show at North East, MD Sat and/or Sun,
wasn't that "Some Show"? Over 200 Chevelles, great weather and great people.
That loaded 383 stroker that was given away kept most everyone til the end!  I
applaud the MCC leadership and all my hard working fellow and fellowette
members for another terrific show and a Great
weekend!!!

The 600 cfm vacuum secondary Holley is the most inconsistant pita carb I have
worked with.  If you go holley make it a double pumper.   Quadrajets and
Edelbrocks will work well too.

I know what you mean Howard...My 327 has a mild cam..465 lift 224 duration
@.050 on both intake and exhaust...headers...roller rockers....weiand stealth
dual plane intake and a couple other small bolt-ons...I know Holleys are good
once you get them right..but man..I just can't seem to find that spot..I've
just heard that the Edelbrock is a much more forgiving carb if you know what I
mean...
