Just to clarify, the key is NOT your ignition switch. The ignition switch is mounted down near the bottom of your steering column. The switch is actuated when you turn the key by a rod that moves the switch. The rod could be binding or the switch slide mechanism could be dirty, or it could be the key. You probably need to check all 3. The switch is held on by 2 phillips screws and if you remove it, you can actuate the key and either eliminate the Key & column rod or eliminate the switch. Also if you do need the ignition switch, be aware that the tilt column switch
