I installed a Tremmec TKO 5 speed this spring in my 68 SS. I've made a couple of road trips this summer to car shows,and it has been great. I bought my tranny from an outfit called Dark Horse performance in Renton Wash. Stay away from them !! Very dishonest. If I had it to do over again I would buy from Jam Performance Transmissions. Email- www.5speedtransmissions.com A few weeks ago I drove my car to the Rocky Mountain Chevelle Regional just south of Denver Co. From where I live In Rock Springs Wyoming it's about 385 miles. On the way back I got about 19 miles per gallon. My car has a 454 with a 355 posi. It was a bit of a pain in the A$$ to install the TKO over from the TH400, But as I look back it was well worth it. You might want to get ahold of Mike Pell. He is a great guy with allot of info. He use to sell Tremmec transmissions, and he helped me out allot even though I didn't buy the tranny from him.
