I pulled the heater assy out of mine in the summer of 1991. My car had been an a/c car to begin with, and that had come in boxes when I got it, but the heater was stuck in the on position and I was living in 90 degree weather. So being young and ambitious that I was, I pulled the whole thing out rather than looping the hose or plugging it at the block. I moved north a year later and continued to drive it daily in as low as 30 degree mornings until 1999. Since then it has come out on nice weekends, or to head out to the strip. I bought a heater from one of the hotrod suppliers a few years ago intending for a simple install, but haven’t gotten there yet. I would think that this would best fit your needs. Clean up the damage done by the previous owner and get a basic heater in there to keep you warm on cold days.

Some hamheaded previous owner ripped out (litteraly) the factory a/c components on the car to make room for the tall chrome valve covers they replaced the stock ones with. Anyway I still have the blower motor attached but thats it, it only survived because its under the fender what I would like to know is your opinions on either a.) buy the fiberglass cover panel that will still enable a heater or b.) cover it all up with sheetmetal panels and damn the heater, the headers will keep you warm? Thanks for the input.
