I have been able to answer my own questions. The valve spring
compressor works great. Comp Cams tech support said to the soak the
Teflon seals in WD-40 for a couple of hours. It worked very well - They
swelled enough to slip over the stem. I just hope they unswell when the
job is done.
The major thing that stopped the install was the valve retainer locks.
They are the wrong ones. They allow the retainer to be level with the
top of the valve stem. Those locks are +.050. I talked to Edelbrock
tech and they said I need -.050 locks. So there went another $35.
plus. Can any one tell me if the difference is .050 or .100 in the
retainer height?

I bought some Comp Cams Bee Hive springs, retainers, locks, Hi-Tec
push rods, and Teflon valve seals. They are going on a BB w/
Edelbrock RPM heads. I have two questions. The tool is from Summit
part no. SUM-906784. Does anyone have this tool or one that is
similar - how well does it work? It seem like a nice one because it
will work from any angle. Is there any trick to installing the Teflon
seals? I know they tear easy, so I plan to use plenty of lube and be
gentle.
