Owning both, also 65's, the only possible downsides that I can think of
are:

Cold in the winter
No rear shelf for speakers

The upside:

It's a convertible.  Put the top down for your test drive & you'll be
grinning & probably won't want to get out of it.  
 

Do crawl into the trunk & look at the rain gutter system.   Also roll
down the rear windows & use a flashlight to look at that part of the
gutters too.   Mine had a little rot in the trunk area along the seams,
but it's pretty easy to access & nobody can see it without crawling in
on their backs to look at it.

never owned a convertible .
For those of you who have had a convertible, what are some of the
upsides and dowsides to a convertible vs a hard top?
