They told me with the 700R4 they wanted me to be hitting 2000 RPM's at 70 MPH. We ran the math and with the large Michelins I have a 3:73 works perfect! My question is what brand or style of posi? As is, the truck will burn 250 feet of rubber and make a 10 Ft mark in second! It has an LT1 in the 46 pickup and it is light! If I'm going to spring for the bucks, I want to do it right once!
I have a 72 Chevelle with a 468 with an 8-71 BDS blower putting out 700+ HP. I have a turbo 400 race prepped and a 12 bolt with the C clips removed and Ford ends welded on, with an Eaton posi with 3:73 gears in it. I haven't run it yet to see if the posi will hold up!
