Dan, there is a box to check when you signup for the list. You have your choice. If I understand you correctly, you had to resubscribe recently. You may have checked the wrong box, or left it at default. You can go back and change your preference at any time. And FWIW - I'm using GMAIL exclusively for the List and don't have a problem.
