I ran a Hurst super shifter with Muncie 4 gear in my 69 before I started the
resto. The shifter came right up the factory hole in the floor with no mods
but the shifter handle was too short to use the console.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Location of shifter
I need to make a custom bracket to attach the shifter to the
transmission...
It's a Muncie transmission with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter that is
going into a '68 Chevelle. It's supposed to fit inside the stock console.
I noticed the shifter stick has a 90-degree jog in it, pushing the stick
toward the passenger side... Just wondering where the stick ends up. I'd
like to assume it's centered down the centerline of the transmission. I
have nothing to check it against since the floor is all new.
Does anyone have the same transmission and shifter? With the transmission
in 3rd or 4th gear; how far from the edge of the stick to say, the driver
door panel or center of the steering column?
Kind regards,
