Thank you Dale,
You confirmed my thinking and will continue looking for one at least a week or 2 earlier. -Krister ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dale" <[email protected]> To: "The Chevelle Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 6, 2009 11:58:08 AM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Engine / water pump dates Water pumps were installed before the engine was shipped but after the build date was stamped. Conceivable? Yes. Probable? No. Dale From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 11:54 AM To: The Chevelle Mailing List Subject: [Chevelle-list] Engine / water pump dates OK I know the rule of thumb that engine components could be dated up to 3 months prior to engine build date. I am looking for a date correct water pump. My stamped engine assembly date is 5/18. I've located a water pump dated 5/19/66. Were the water pumps put on at the time of engine assembly or a later date? Conceivable that a 5/18 assembled engine could have a 5/19 water pump on it? Thanks, -Krister
