I had that problem on my Impala a couple of years ago and discovered that the fuel line had developed a leak back by the tank and would completely dry out overnight. It took two mechanics a week to find it. They kept looking around the engine until we put it on the lift to do some exhaust work and saw the rotten section. Hope your problem is that simple.
