I had hoped, but was unable, to talk with those at the meeting tonight about taking up the proposal by those organizing the October 12th National Day Against Raids and Oppression, which is to consider the "October 11th National day of action against the War. In each city, whenever possible, coordinate and mesh the immigrant movement demands and actions with the October 11th National Day of Anti-War Actions. We are engaged in virtually the same struggle. We must demand an end to the ar at home and abroad." In Chicago, those planning for the October day of action against the war here met for the first time last Saturday. There will be another planning meeting, one person-one voice-one vote, this coming Saturday at 3 p.m. at the 8th Day Center for Justice at 205 West Monroe. Because of the way the security in the building works, it is important to be on time. Last Saturday we decided to have a rally and march in the immigrant community mainly of Pakistanis on Devon Avenue, especially because the U.S. has announced it is willing to unilaterally take military action inside of Pakistan without permission of the government or people. A permit has been applied for, and we should get it. This Saturday we need to talk more about content, slogans, and other plans. Hope you can make it. \\ And best on your plans for October 12th. I'm sure many from the anti-war movement will be interested in participating. --Neal Resnikoff
