"WHERE IS OUR BAILOUT?" OMAR LOPEZ, GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE
FOR CONGRESS CRIES OUT
"In view of the recent government bailout proposal of a trillion dollars for
big business and rich people, 'Where is our bailout?'", asks Omar Lopez,
Green Party candidate for the 4th District Congress. Omar Lopez will address
this question on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Mexica Political
Organization’s Candidate's Forum, to be held at Cuernavaca Restaurant, 1158 W,
18th
St. at 11 a.m.
"If our government is going to help the wealthiest sectors of our economy
such as big banks and mortgage lenders, they should also help the much less
wealthy by forgiving their loans or baling them out of an economic crisis,"
said
Lopez.
Omar Lopez supports economic reform that will address the needs of working
families and individuals:
- The introduction and support of legislation that calls for
forgiveness or modifications of Federally Guaranteed Student Loans for those
who need
it.
- The introduction and support of legislation that calls for
forgiveness or modifications of housing loans, such as Federal Housing
Authority (FHA)
and Housing and Urban Development Loans (HUD), for those who need it.
- The introduction and support of legislation that calls for
forgiveness or modifications of Small Business Administration (SBA) Loans for
those
who need it.
"The solution that Omar Lopez is proposing is fair and just. If our Federal
Government is willing and able to bail out the wealthiest sectors of our
country why can't the same Federal Government help out the common men and
women
in this country who are struggling to survive with their families?" said one
of his supporters.
