After more than two years it appears NAIR activists may finally be on the road
toward forming a national coordinating body embodying a multi issue agenda
designed to bring in progressive allies that hopefully will have the potential
for evolving into a more permanent national unifying mass movement capable of
challenging this near irreversible trend toward a corporate police state. It
should be clear now that ICE and Homeland Security have no serious intent to
deport ALL "illegal"" immigrants. It is more likely that these ICE/Homeland
Security raids and internment camps of "illegal" immigrants are meant to:
(1) serve as an organizing vehicle for the incorporation of all local community
and state police forces under the nationwide authority and
control of Homeland Security and the President a major step towards
establishing a national police state.
(2) the American internment camps in Guantanamo established the "legal"
precedent and American public acceptance or tolerance for
Nazi style prison camps on the island of Cuba paved the way toward the
public acquiescence or tolerance for the growing number of
the same policy of Nazi style internment camps we now see for internment
of "illegal" immigrant families on American soil.
(3) it should now be clear that the Gestapo raids, arrests and imprisonment of
"illegal" immigrants at their homes, places of work and
even in public places , are meant from the very beginning to establish
"legal" precedent, and local government approval of the type of
Gestapo police raids exemplified by the St. Paul Police Gestapo
"preemptive" raids on homes of those they had previously identified as
leaders of civil society organizations planning peaceful protests at the
Republican Convention, to be followed the next day by violent
armed police attacks and mass arrest of street protesters, and the
unprecedented arrest and beatings of members of the press.
We must therefore redefine and expand our immigrant rights agenda to
address this dangerous and very real attack against the civil
rights and basic freedoms of ALL Americans including ALL who reside within
our borders. This will require our using this October 11-
12 th demonstration as a means to form a true multi racial working class
based national civil rights alliance that goes way beyond these
one day events.

"Día de La Raza" is a symbolic date that remind us of the European Invasion
& Colonization of America. Ironically today, the US & European governments are
legislating a barrage of laws to CRIMINALIZE undocumented immigrant workers.
These Immigrant workers were FORCED OUT of their home countries by the
Neoliberal economic policies of Globalization & Free Trade Agreements
(FTA's NAFTA, CAFTA) These policies were IMPOSED on Latin America by the
US & European governments and Multinational Corporations. Therefore we demand
the following:
1. STOP I.C.E. Raids & Deportations, NO! to break up of families.
2. CALL on all presidential candidates to announce an IMMEDIATE and
UNCONDITIONAL MORATORIUM on Raids and Deportations.
3. Comprehensive Immigration Reform in the first 100 days of the new
federal government.
