What is the status of the company?? Is it in bankruptcy?? Did the owners form
another company outside of Illinois merge with Republican Windows?
If the workers are laid off what are the rehire rules?? Also, are the funds for
the workers or for the company?? How many workers have been laid off and how
many are still unemployed?
I am sorry to have missed the Tuesday's meetings but I am in class.? Give us an
update, since this is really a union?issue and not necessarily an immigrant?or
undocumented workers?situation.
gracias

Workers

Please make a note: "Negotiations were unable to come up with an
immediate solution to re-open the factory, said organizers for the
United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, the workers'
union. However, a fund to try and re-open the plant -- called the
Windows of Opportunity Fund -- would be started with donations
received during the sit-in, they said."

We can all help Republic's workers even further. Let's come up with a
plan to help the Windows of Opportunity Fund!
