Blue Island Ave., Pilsen WHY: *Rally at Federal Plaza in Chicago, January 21st * *FIRST DAY of the FIRST 100 DAYS of Barack Obama's administration * *The Change We Voted For * President Obama was elected by millions of voters - including immigrants, African Americans, students, anti-war activists, union members and working people- who saw in his message of change their own hopes for a better world. Many voted for Obama as a vote for housing, jobs, healthcare, peace, and justice. After the 2008 elections, many feel a new or renewed sense that fighting for justice and against racism is not only necessary, but possible. The undersigned organizations call for a rally at Federal Plaza on January 21st, the first day of the Obama administration, to initiate the countdown of his first 100 days in the White House. It is now time to put forward what changes we expect. With this purpose we call to all social and political movements and organizations to meet this *Wednesday, January 14th at 6:30 PM in Casa Michoacán, 1638 S. Blue Island Ave., in Pilsen*, to discuss and vote on the details of this rally. We propose to form at the meeting an organizing committee for the rally, and to caucus by cause to put forward one demand each. Still depending on who attends, we propose the following preliminary caucuses: Labor, Immigration, Healthcare, War, Palestine, Gay Rights, and Education.
