"Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said that at least 975 Palestinians
were killed in the Israeli offensive which entered its nineteenth day.
Hundreds of the killed Palestinians were women, children and elderly,
and at least 4500 residents, including children, were injured. 28
residents were killed on Tuesday."
"Half a million residents in Gaza are now without drinking water."

WHO: Latino organizations, unions, student organizations, religious
organizations, peace and justice groups, and other social groups of
the civil society unite to condemn the military attack against the
people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip
WHEN: WEDNESDAY, January 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m.

WHY: 1. The United Nations condemned Israel's invasion to the Gaza
Strip, and voted on the Israeli's troops to immediate withdraw. For
half a century the United Nations has done the same thing, voted
against Israel, and this state has not complied with a single one of
hundreds of resolutions. Israel is committing war crimes, according to
many sources and the Geneva Conventions. We demand the end of Israel's
occupation of the Gaza Strip, the immediate cease fire and the
immediate withdraw of all its troops.
2. Latinos share with the Palestinian the existence
of an Apartheid Wall, similar to the Wall in the boundaries with
Mexico. Walls have never and will never solve conflicts among
neighboring nations.

Por Qué: 1. Porque conocemos la histórica agresión, masacre y
ocupación del pueblo Palestino por parte del gobierno de Israel y el
no cumplimiento de las resoluciones de la Organización de las Naciones
Unidas, incluida la de hace dos días. Israel está cometiendo crímenes
de guerra, de acuerdo a las leyes internacionales y a la Convención de
Ginebra.
2. Porque los Latinos compartimos con los
Palestinos la existencia de un Muro de la Vergüenza, similar al Muro
en la frontera con México. Históricamente, los muros nunca han
resuelto los problemas entre países vecinos.
