Some voted for you because they wanted to make history. Many voted for you after John McCain told people the economy was as healthy as ever and almost the next day the economy crashed, then he interrupted his campaign to fix the problem and people responsible for fixing the problem told the world that McCain didn't have any idea on how to fix the problem and was really in the way. Then people really understood they didn't want McCain when he chose a running mate, Sarah Palen, who said her foreign policy experience was in essence her looking out her back door and seeing Russia. The American people at that point really understood that John McCain's judgment was really warped. Therefore, some voted for you because they didn't feel comfortable putting the power of government in the hand of McCain. For whatever self interest reason people voted for you, ALL of us voted for you because we wanted a change. You hit us right in the middle of our psychological integrity by helping us to understand that McCain was more of the same. You are presently being embarrassed by your appointments because you are trying to implement new thought with old players. What do I mean by this statement? Let me explain. Tom Daschle, your choice for Health & Human Service (HHS) Secretary, was in the Senate for better than thirty (30) years. He left the Senate in 2005. He was part of the bunch that was making the decisions that has got the country in the economical mess that it is in. For someone to be in government for that long, it's a good bet that somewhere down the line they have been corrupted. Old Tom was more of the same. He was just like Bush. Bush lied about the reason for the war in Iraq. His policies bankrupted the country. He flew nonchalantly over New Orleans in a burst of uncaring when people were starving and living on their roof tops because the water would let them go nowhere. Bushes integrity was check at the door when he took the oath of office. Just like Bush knew he was lying about the reason for going to war in Iraq, Daschle knew that he was a tax dodger. He was so arrogant that he thought that his tax cheating would not be exposed, and then didn't have the integrity to let you know so you could make your own decision whether you wanted to fight to get him appointed in spite of his corruption. Barack, you got to go with new blood. Daschle may have knowledge that you need in your cabinet but he is more of the same. Let him be an advisor to the young academic that I suggest that you bring in Tom's place. You can't reach back into the past because I'm telling you it's a good bet that all of them got ghosts somewhere. Yes, you need their expertise. But don't appoint them to the position, let them advise. Let me go on. Nancy Killefer, your choice for Chief Enforcement Officer. Just look at who she is. Nancy Killefer, before being nominated was a high level trusted partner at the management consulting corporation McKinsey & Co. Nancy has also served in the capacity of a Treasury Department official under President Bill Clinton's administration from 1997 to 2000. Nancy Killefer was the Senior Director and Head of the Washington DC office of McKinsey & Company. McKinsey is a reputable global management consultancy firm. McKinsey has over 8,000 consultants in 90 offices across 51 countries. Clients include three of the world's five largest companies, two-thirds of the Fortune 1000 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortune_1000>, governments and other non-profit institutions. McKinsey's clients represent more than 70 percent of Fortune magazine's most-admired list, more than 90 of the 100 leading global corporations, and governments in more than 35 countries. * Forbes <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes>* estimated the firm's 2007 revenues at $4.37 billion. From here she moved on to the high profile federal job of Assistant Secretary for Management, CFO, and COO at the United States Department of the Treasury. After her stint with the government she came back to the consulting firm and then in 2000 joined Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Here at IRS she was in the Oversight Board, a department which oversees IRS functions etc. She was in fact the Chairperson of that board. Barack, she epitomizes the ilk from which we want change. She oversaw the IRS while she was cheating on her taxes. She is more of the same. Mr. President, you got to go after young blood. Let her advise some academic that is teaching economics at one of the universities. You must change the old vanguard. This is why we voted for you. Are you feeling me? Now watch this. And then there is Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who, though confirmed, still didn't pay all of his taxes. Mr. President, you must fire him. Yes, I said fire him!! He, like Daschle and Killefer, knew that he was a tax evader. It would be different if these people had done the time for their crimes and you chose to give them a second chance. But these people have broken the law and not paid their debt to society. Mr. President, you have got to get rid of anyone who you find to be a criminal who has not paid for their crime. They can't pay for their crime because they want to be in your administration. This is unacceptable. Use him, or her, as a consultant. Go to one of them universities and get someone who has not been with the old vanguard to replace him/her. Let these interviewees know that if there is anything in their background that is unlawful it will not only prevent their appointment, it will be grounds for legal action. I bet they will be truthful with you under this kind of pressure. Mr. President, you cannot run a popularity contest. Yes, you want people to like you, but being liked cannot trump integrity. Being President is not about being liked. Being President is about doing what is right and best for the American people. Mr. President, this is my last piece of advice. You are the President. You are around a bunch of powerful people but you are the most powerful. You got into office because people, mainly new people, got on your band wagon because we wanted change. To kick start the economy, you should bail us out. Give the bulk of the bail out money to those people of us who have lost our jobs, with our homes in foreclosure, and our electrical bill are a challenge to pay. Pay off our houses. This will free up capital that we will spend with business. Don't give the money to business. Give it to us. Make us debt free. We will consume. Consumption will kick start the economy from the ground up. Then use the other money to build the infrastructure. This will allow us to get back to work. We will spend and the economy will be growing at a blistering pace. By using this strategy the very people that got you elected will make that Senate support your economic initiative. Don't abandon your base to embrace the old vanguard. Bail out the people. The people supported you. You should return the favor and support them. The old vanguard is buying luxury jets, renovating office for a million plus dollars. They don't respect you. If they did they would not come begging and then purchase airplanes with the money for which they begged. Give the money to the people. It is the people who voted for you because we wanted change. Mr. President, recognize who you are, and be the President of the people. The people will not sell you out. It is time for a change. You are the change. You must be the change.
