What if someone submits a patch for some exotic hardware platform? Will we be unable to accept it, just because we can't test it? If the patch doesn't break anything and if it looks acceptable, why not add it, in the hope of giving more users the opportunity to try out chicken, and perhaps help in fixing any remaining bugs. Moreover, we can not expect that someone will come up who tests the change. IME that happens rarely. People usually appear suddenly, contribute something and vanish again. This isn't the worst model, though.
