There is no need to be sorry - I had the same situation myself in a different context. Also, R7RS is not very explicit about inclusiveness of bounds (R5RS is, but R7RS moved that bit of information into the introductory section). Finally, tests for exactly this case were missing from the test suite. So, all is well, thank you for your help. felix
