The web interface to gmail will show (in your inbox) your replies to a
thread already in your inbox. Thus it was surprising that no messages
would appear at all, since the first response to a thread you initiate
will pull that thread into your inbox. Now it makes sense, if the web
client isn't being used. I would guess that Mr. Van Every does not
have "Receive your own posts to the list?" set to Yes in the
chicken-users list options.
But I did. For funzies, I set it to No, saved my options, then set it
to Yes, and saved my options, hoping that "flipping the switch" might
set it to the correct state. Here's a rundown of my current settings:
Receive your own posts to the list? YES
Receive acknowledgement mail when you send mail to the list? YES
Avoid duplicate copies of messages? NO

Things are still broken. I did not see my original "mailing list
trouble" post, but I did get a confirmation that I had posted. I got
your direct e-mail to me, but *not* a copy from the mailing list, which
I should have. This leads me to believe that the Chicken mailing list
software is ignoring 2 of my user settings?
