Well, I don't know what it is, but it's back.  Running
"chicken-meta-setup reinstall" may or may not be relevant here.

I destroyed every egg I had when I switched to 3.0, for what it's
worth.

I just ran "chicken-meta-setup reinstall", and it didn't help.  Nor
does re-installing http.

If this is some kind of egg compilation problem, I don't get it.
