I would add that this would be extremely helpful in compiled code
error output as well.
Memory is vague, but it sure seems these questions have come up from
time to time, and the answer has been, well, it hasn't been doable.
Gratefully some improvement in error output has occurred in the last
couple of years, but that doesn't stop us from wanting more :)
