That might just work. A UUIDv4 is 128 bits, so it can be plugged in wherever 128 bits of nonce are required. However this isn't always the case, for example AES-GCM is commonly used with 96 bit nonces. Another thing to consider is that the egg provides UUID4. UUID1 might be smarter for a distributed setting as it has a machine-specific part. Vasilij
