I see.  Thanks for clarifying.  That was indeed the case some time ago.
The openssl egg is now available for C6 [0][1].

It was also possible to use test-new-egg for C6, but with
henrietta-cache -- which ends up using openssl -- for C5 [2], but
nowadays this convoluted trick is no longer necessary.
