I had a puppy with demodectic mange....DON'T allow them to dip your puppy! Chihuahua's are too small to handle this treatment, it even affects bigger dogs negatively...try the lotion medicine the vet prescribes, give omega capsules (to help the skin). Otherwise, my vet told me they will give the smae medicine they give to treat heartworm, but they give them it for a month. My dog has been fine since we treated her this way, but there is always the chance it will return.
