I one hundred percent agree with you Sher and I dont want you to go anywhere! There are so many ignorant people out there. I took Bella to the dog park yesterday and met two of them!! I was so excited when I got there because there was another small Chihuahua which NEVER happens. I was happy that Bella would get to play with someone her own size. Then I began talking to the owners and got more and more disgusted.I mentioned that Bella had just had her second vac's and the owner say's "What, she has her vac's?" I looked at her like she was crazy and told her yes she has two vac's and one left. She then tells me that her puppy has had none of her vac's and is older than Bella. She is bringing her four month old puppy to a dog park with NO VACCINATIONS! I politely tell her it may not be such a safe idea to bring her around other dogs until she has her vac's. So we continue talking and she tells me that her Chi jumped off of their couch and broke its leg and that the cast started smelling so they cut it off. A little while later she tells me they want to breed the little girl with her boyfriends Chi. Keep in mind that this Chi was around one and a half pounds at four months. I told her she would need to get much bigger to breed her and that its very dangerous to breed a bitch that small. Then the last straw, she tells me she got the puppy from a woman on the side of the road and that she HAS NO PAPERS!! I said are you kidding me, you are going to breed her with no papers! She was like "oh I dont care that she doesnt have paper's, I saw her parents and they looked okay." That was the last straw I had to distance myself lest I blow up.
I try to educate people as much as I can but I have a very bad temper (with people) and when I get angry it gets worse. So I just kept my mouth shut and watched Bella until I left. Oh I was steaming!! Please dont breed your dog, I have my doubts about whether or not your dog has had genetic testing done but whatever. Just because your vet say's she looks okay doesnt mean she doesnt have bad genes. Who were the champions in her lines? What did they show/compete in? Anyone we would know? Where did you show your german shephard?
