I just have to laugh. I tried the soda can with pennies on my Scamp. 
It worked great the first few times. Then he realized it was just 
noise and it made him mad. Every time he saw the can, he barked like 
crazy at it and tried to "attack" it.
 It sounds like RubyGirl is pretty stubborn. You can try rolling up a 
newspaper to smack somewhere close to her. Say when she bites your 
hand, smack the newspaper on your wrist with a loud "No!". Hopefully 
the noise will stop her.
