Yep that is true but being a breeder you have no idea how well they parent there kids. As a breeder I know how to teach my kids about the care of the dog, as a parent a dog is a dog to some. I have been doing this along time and have seen and heard many horror stories. I will not place a tiny 2 or 3 lb chihuahua in a home with kids under the age of 3 or 4. That is my preference. I love these little guys and everyone that leaves my home I am in constant contact with. It breaks my heart to hear "Oh we had a little accident" usually not the child holding the dog but accidently stepped, kicked, sat, It is not the childs fault. So do we lock the dog up for safety? do we constantly have to watch and monitor the child around the pup? Should either live like this? is it truely fare for either? Just my opinion. I lost a few to small kids so no more. If they are sturdier chihuahuas say 5 to 6 lbs then I know
there is less chance of accidents they still happen but the outcome is different.
It's kind of interesting to hear breeders say they have no problem placing tiny chihuahuas in homes with kids. I have always heard it was a no no. I guess it all depends on the family. For me tinies do not go to kid homes. But your full figured chihuahua lol may be placed and that depends on the situation.

I guess this is a all dependent on the breeder. I personally think if the
adult buying the dog is responsible there is no reason why chihuahua's and
children don't mix. This is just another parental repsonsibility, teaching
your children about the fragility of chihuahua's vs. other breeds of dogs. I
know many children who have grown up along side a chihuahua companion in
harmony:).
