Karen,
My heart aches for you. I had a Shih Tzu named Tai for 11 yrs. She
was my "daughter" as I have no human kids.
One day I noticed through her thick coat she had lost alot of weight.
I immediately took her to the vet. Under the fluorecent lighting in
his office we could see she was jaundiced (yellow).
I was told she probably had a liver tumor. She had no symptoms other
than the recent weight loss. The vet told me she was terminal, nothing
could be done but to keep her comfortable. I was in shock to say the
least. My baby, my best friend was going to die.
Well, that was on a Wednesday. By Friday morning she couldn't even
lift her little head, & didn't recognize me. I had to make a decision.
I couldn't bear to watch her suffer. I had her put down Friday morning.
That was 8 yrs. ago. It took me all that time before I got another
baby because I was heartbroken. I have her ashes in a beautiful box on
my dresser where I see her everyday.
Anyhow now I have my 2 beautiful Chi kids & my life is so full
because of them.It was worth the wait for me. I have always loved
Chi's & wanted them & couldn't be happier with them. As a matter of
fact, I am getting another! My friend who is a breeder has a gorgeous
silver merle male who will be mine shortly, (as soon as I get the
money together,LOL).
He's a tiny 3lb sweetie I plan to breed with my Cebeigne.
I miss Tai, & no other could ever replace her, but the love I feel for
my new kids is just as deep. These sweet animals enrich my life so
much I can't imagine my life without them. I only wish they lived as
long as we do.
 I am praying for you.
Cyndie

was 16 on July 6, 2005. I was in the hospital last week to find I had
a non-evasive tumor in my bladder (thank goodness). My daughter was
watching my 2 chis, Pedro who was 18 in August and Rosie. She called
to tell me Rosie was having a hard time getting around (arthritis).
We decided it was in her best interest to put her down, so we did.
We miss her very much but we also know she is at peace and feeling
much better. It is so sad to see them suffer. I still have Pedro and
my daughter and grandsons have Ziggy who was 1 on November 19th.

Rosie. Thanks.
