SEPARATION ANXIETY NORMALLY OCCURES AT TWO POINTS....WHEN A PUP IS FIRST REMOVED FROM ITS LITTERMATES (WHICH IS PERFECTLY NORMAL AND A STAGE THEY SIMPLY HAVE TO LEARN TO ADJUST TO) AND WHEN AN OLDER DOG, WHO HAS NOT BEEN SEPARATED, SUDDENLY IS. EXPECT YOUR PUP TO EXPERIENCE SOME ANXIETY IN THE BEGINNING, THIS IS NORMAL, BUT AS SHE GROWS, SHE WILL LEARN THAT, WHILE YOU MAY LEAVE, YOU ALWAYS COME BACK! :-) BEGIN WITH SHORT SEPARATIONS AND LOTS OF ATTENTION UPON RETURN THEN PROGRESS TO LONGER TIMES GONE. DO NOT MAKE A FUSS WHEN YOU LEAVE...DON'T BABY AND COO, SIMPLY STATE YOUR GOOD BYES AND LEAVE. SAVE THE BABYING AND COOING FOR WHEN YOU RETURN.
