I bought a moisturizing shampoo for Remy. Have had no skin irritation. Shena.

baths may actually worsen the condition. Chis have really dry skin, and as we all know, dry skin itches. Every time you bathe your chi, you are taking the oils that moisturize his skin, out of his hair. Sometimes their skin can get so dry that hair falls out. A lot of vets who are not real familiar with this breed do not even realize the damage that bathing can do to a chis dry skin. The problem isn't as bad for the long haired chis, but the short haired ones can get pretty bad if bathed too much.

Chance is a long haired chi. He does have white flakes on his back. Looks almost like dandraff. I never noticed that until he got a steroid shot. Then his skin seemed to heal up but got real dry. I had him at the vets on Dec. 6 and he gave him more pills and he also said he had something in his ears. He gave me drops to put in his ears, but Chance won't let me put them in. I try to sneak them in when he's on my lap asleep and sometimes that works. If he sees me coming toward his ears he wiggles and bites until I can't get it in his ears. Betty
