Hi Everyone. I'm Kay from South Carolina. My baby chose me this past spring and ended up being my birthday present. She was so cute just setting there looking at me with those sweet eyes and those BIG ears and a coat that feels like velvet (smooth coat). It was love at first sight. I had put my old carin terrior to sleep the fall before and swore no more dogs, then this little one just had to look at me like she did and that did it. It's quite interesting going from a old, blind, hard of hearing dog to a bundle of energy that barks at every little noise she hears.
We had all kinds of problems when Allay was little. Almost lost her due to low blood sugar. It scared me so bad, I held her for 3 days, even sleeping in my recliner holding her at night. She was alergic to almost every puppy shot. What a sight with her face swollen to twice the size it should be. When it came time to have her spade, I made sure the Vet would be there every day (Sometimes there are other Vets at the Animal Hospital and I will only deal with one of them) and he kept her for 3 days, just to make sure she didn't have a bad reaction to anything. But she came through that like the little trooper she is. Allay was trained to a crate, I didn't allow her to sleep in bed until she was six months old, but we now have a rubber maid step stool at the side of the bed for her to go up and down. She sleeps cuddled up to me or on my pillow. I don't know why but she seems to like to snuggle up and I find my nose against her belly. LOL She is also trained to use a puppy pamper so we don't have the outside issue. We do have a big house so she has plenty of room to run. Her favorite game is chasing the cats through the house or being chased by one of them. I'm retired now and have had lots of animals and large dogs in my life but never have I gotten attached to one like I have this one. She is spoiled rotten and I love her that way. I took her shopping for a new sweater for Christmas and we came home with 3 sweaters and a fur coat. She is just adorable in them. Made a Album - Allay Yofiel Camael Lewis - Her name means Allay is a Angel of joy, peace and beauty. I named her after two angels as there are a lot of whitches and warlocks in her family history and I wanted a Angel not a witch.
